Erie Steelhead — Fall & Winter

Chase chrome.

Lake-run steelhead are a must on a fly rod — hard-fighting, acrobatic, and grown fat in Lake Erie. Let us take you hook-to-net on PA's largest lake-run fish.

01 The Trip

“The tug is the drug.

Nestled within the Great Lakes tributaries of Lake Erie, steelhead fishing offers the thrill of hooking into magnificent anadromous fish known for their strength and acrobatic displays. The fall and winter months mark prime season, as these fish migrate upstream from the lake — creating a vibrant, exciting atmosphere along the waterways.

Steelhead spend most of their lives as a lake-run strain of rainbows, growing large before returning to the tributaries at 3–4 years old, full of power. Elk, Crooked, and the other Erie creeks are waters we can take the journey together on. Prime dates fill quickly — reach out today.

Steelhead trips run on the same day rates as our trout trips.
